What are the Extended Warranty and Extended Warranty Plus Protection Plans?
Jewelry protection plans are extended service plans that provide you with additional services not covered by the standard warranty. These plans allow broader protection for your jewelry on top of your standard warranty.
What is the difference between the standard warranty and the protection plans?
Every GOLD SHIELD product comes with a standard warranty plan, which covers any manufacturing defects but does not cover product maintenance and/or damage resulting from natural wear over time, misuse, or accidents. There is no additional charge for the standard warranty. The extended and extended plus protection plans, on the other hand, cover maintenance needs or damage resulting from normal wear, misuse, or accidents. There is an additional charge for these plans, depending on the coverage option selected.
How many types of protection plans are available?
We offer two protection plans, extended warranty and extended plus.
Is it mandatory to select a protection plan?
No, protection plans are not mandatory; however, it is advisable to select a plan to maintain your jewelry, and with the extended warranty plus we protect you against loss or theft.
What is the difference between the Extended Protection Plan and the Extended Protection Plus Plan?
The difference between the two plans is the level of coverage they offer. The Extended Protection Plan allows you to receive maintenance services after your 30-day return period, while the Extended Protection Plus plan provides broader maintenance services, including protection against loss or theft.
What is the cost of the Protection Plans?
The cost depends on your product choice and the level of coverage. You can see the cost of the selected plan depending on the cost of the jewelry you wish to insure.
Is the return shipping fee included in my Protection Plan?
Yes, it is. When you return your product for repair under your Protection Plan, we provide you with a shipping label and you only need to drop it off at the carrier. The shipping is on us.
How do I use the Protection Plans?
You just need to contact us, and we will assist you promptly.
How are the Protection Plans renewed?
You just need to contact us as soon as your protection period ends, and we will help you renew any plan you wish.
Can I use another jeweler's services for basic maintenance while I have my protection plan?
Yes, it is possible to perform maintenance; we are not responsible for any damage the jeweler may cause under the extended protection plan, however, under the extended protection plus plan, we can replace the product if necessary.
Glossary
-
Manufacturing defects: Errors in the original design of the product as it leaves the factory are considered manufacturing defects.
-
Polishing, finish, and rhodium plating restoration: With regular use, the metal of your sterling silver jewelry loses its shine; the finish of your ring or the rhodium plating may fade over time. With the extended warranty plans, we maintain your jewelry.
-
Tarnish removal: No matter what your jewelry is made of, it can tarnish or develop a patina depending on how it has been worn. Your extended warranty covers the removal of any dirt, tarnish, oxidation, or patina.
-
Repair of broken jewelry (all detached pieces): Your jewelry can break from impact, misuse, or accidents. Our protection plans cover the repair of broken pieces, as long as no jewelry pieces are missing and the gemstones (if any) remain intact.
-
Stone setting: Stones in prongless jewelry settings can loosen over time and this can cause them to fall out. We secure them if necessary.
-
Prong adjustment: The prongs on your jewelry can get caught on clothing and bend, or loosen over time and cause the stone to fall out. The prongs on your jewelry are tightened if necessary.
-
Reshaping: The ring may begin to deform with constant use; if necessary, we will fix it with the protection plans.
-
Repair of chains, earrings, and more: Jewelry chains can get caught on something and break, and the bracelet or chain clasps can be damaged as a result of frequent use. Earrings and other jewelry can be damaged as a result of normal use.
-
Replacement of damaged center stone: Any type or size of stone, whether a diamond, moissanite, or cubic zirconia (CZ) center stone, is replaced at no cost. This service is limited to one time during the protection period.
-
Loss or theft: Your jewelry is insured against loss during the shipment of your order to your home; the warranty plus protection plan will also continue to protect you against loss one time.
