Charms
A "charm" is a jewelry pendant or a charm, often found on necklaces or bracelets. Charms can be made of metal, gemstones, ceramic, glass, beads, and other jewelry materials. In ancient times, charms were believed to ward off evil or bring good fortune to the person wearing them.
Today, many charms are selected and worn because of the sentimental value they bring to jewelry lovers. It's not uncommon for mothers to wear charms that represent their children, for example, charms containing their children's birthstones, tiny feet, or monogram letters of their children's names.
Other charms that are commonly worn can represent important dates in the wearer's life, such as their wedding date or graduation date, or special hobbies, interests, or professions.
Previously worn by girls, charms are now a popular jewelry choice for women of all ages. Charms are usually easy to put on and take off a piece of jewelry, which makes charm jewelry easy to personalize so the wearer can select a unique look for any special occasion.
